SUR LEADS WAY AT LONDON MARATHON…AND OTHER MAJOR EVENTS
Sunday 12 April 2009 Site Unit Rentals (SUR), The McAvoy Group's Oxford-based event accommodation specialist, is one of the biggest suppliers of units for the recent Flora London Marathon.
Almost 30 plastisol, timber-framed units of varying sizes were provided by SUR for an event that is now established as one of the United Kingdom's biggest and most popular sporting occasions.
SUR units are virtually all located at the race's finish line for use by organisers and others involved in running the event. The company's units have long been the preferred choice of the organisers.
SUR will also be a primary supplier of accommodation to other major events including Glastonbury Rock Festival, the Homelands Rock Festival in Worchester, the Windsor Horse Trials, Henley Regatta, the SED Construction Exhibition in Milton Keynes, as well as the British Formula One Grand Prix at Silverstone. In addition, SUR is providing units for the forthcoming programme of public events at Hyde Park in central London
On site at the marathon, the outstanding versatility and flexibility of SUR's accommodation will be demonstrated by the range of applications for the units. SUR is supplying sleeper, diner and shower units. In addition, units will be used by staff responsible for time keeping and medical services.
At Glastonbury, SUR units will be used backstage by the organisers, artistes and security staff.
SUR's general manager Denise Page says: “We are delighted to be involved again with such prestigious events as the London Marathon, Glastonbury Rock Festival, Henley Regatta and SED, the UK's biggest construction exhibition.
